The MES cane and bagasse drying oven is used in determining the moisture content of a sample of cane or bagasse. The sample is weighed and placed in a stainless steel tray, having a gauze filter which allows air to be drawn through and out either via a rear or bottom mounted vent. The oven is usually run at 105°C and the sample dried for a period of one hour. After the drying period is complete the sample is weighed again in order to determine the moisture content.
